Minimalism can step aside – when Formex opens its doors on August 26, visitors will be greeted by a colorful expression where emotion, creativity and artistic freedom take center stage. This year’s entrance square exhibition, Eclectic Maximalism, invites visitors to a visionary design landscape created by fashion designer Maxjenny Forslund and trend analyst Jan Rundgren – two creators who met for the very first time, but who immediately found a common design language. <\/p>\n
– We want to create an experience that inspires, challenges and invites something new. A place where design can be felt – not just seen,” says Jan Rundgren. <\/p>\n

The exhibition takes you into a vibrant landscape of sculptural furniture, hand-printed wallpaper, designer rugs and recycled materials. It mixes art and technology, sustainability and visions of the future – all in a bold and colorful maximalism that both touches and surprises. <\/p>\n
– For me, maximalism is not just a style, it’s an attitude. A way of expressing soul, identity and courage. At Formex, I can finally give this expression full scope,” says Maxjenny Forslund. <\/p>\n

Combining two worlds – fashion and interior design – has been a central idea in this year’s concept. Project manager Sonja Bj\u00f6rk Ebert describes the initiative as a statement on the power of the physical meeting place: <\/p>\n
– We want Formex to be more than a trade fair – it should be a place for meetings, creativity and conversation. That’s why it feels so right to bring together two unique design languages and let them create something completely new together. <\/p>\n
With influences from three strong design trends – Awakening, Escapism and Maximalism – the entrance plaza sets the tone for the entire Formex fall 2025. It will be a visual invitation to think bigger, dare more and let your imagination take over. <\/p>\n
