For the third year in a row, the Formex jury has chosen a winner of the fair’s sustainability prize, the Formex Sustainability Award. In 2025, it was Tv\u00e5la & Tvaga that won the prize for its well-thought-out household soap Skina. <\/strong><\/p>\n

As in previous years, the Formex Sustainability Award is designed as a competition, where exhibiting companies could participate by submitting products. The jury nominated six of the entries, all of which are represented in a mini exhibition at the fair. The winner was Tv\u00e5la & Tvaga with its multifunctional household soap Skina. <\/p>\n

Jury’s motivation:
A thoughtful, Swedish-made and handmade household soap made from saponified organic oils that works for washing dishes, laundry and cleaning. It saves resources by replacing liquid products and eliminates the need for plastic bottles, while not disturbing natural aquatic environments when released into the sewer. One soap to rule them all – the winner of the Formex Sustainability Award 2025 is Soap & Wash! <\/p>\n

– This is huge for us! The prize is also proof that it is possible to combine design and sustainability in a simple skin care product, which this soap actually is. I am also proud that the award goes to a small company that manufactures all products itself here at home in Sweden, says Anna Steneg\u00e4rd, CEO of Tv\u00e5la & Tvaga. Anna Steneg\u00e4rd received the award – a unique glass statuette that celebrates the sea and water and is designed by Marie-Louise Hellgren – at the Formex press breakfast. <\/p>\n

The idea for the household soap Skina was born in 2022, when Anna Steneg\u00e4rd got tired of feeling odd using the same soap to both wash herself and do the dishes. She felt that there was a need for a product that clearly showed that it is possible, and so she launched the soap Skina – which can be used for washing, washing dishes and cleaning – and of course to wash your hands. <\/p>\n

– It felt important to highlight that the choice is not about choosing a product for every use, but choosing between a good and a bad product. And organic craft soaps are definitely a good product! We live and breathe sustainability at the company, and our “industry” is literally four arms and a hand blender. Small-scale and thoughtful. For a small company like us, it’s also an economic issue not to waste leftovers, for example. <\/p>\n

The Formex Sustainability Award was established to highlight good examples in the industry and promote sustainable development. This year’s jury consists of chair Maria Soxbo, journalist and co-founder of Klimatklubben, Malin Jensen, interior designer, Maria Lagerman, specialist in circular business models, Emma Olbers, designer and Daniel Svahn, designer and interior architect. The prize is awarded annually in connection with the spring Formex trade fair. <\/p>\n

– Formex is continuously working to promote sustainability by encouraging companies to think long-term and integrate sustainable practices into their production. This is the third time the prize has been awarded. We want to continue to highlight role models among exhibitors who in turn can inspire both other exhibitors and visitors to a deeper understanding of what can make a difference in sustainability.
