Café Mimou x Anna Starrén

At the fair in August 2023, creator and florist Anna Starrén was commissioned to create an inviting and delightful café. The result was just as we thought, a place to hang out, eat well, do business, listen to inspiring conversations and be embraced by craftsmanship. Read our interview with Anna Starrén below.

Hi Anna! What is your previous relationship with Formex?
Formex is a new start, a kickoff, a new semester. It’s at Formex that I’ve chosen the tools for my gigantic gadget box. I find the creative process among people, in meetings, colors and things. I have been a classic visitor who has made purchases for the shop, an exhibitor for the ODDBIRDS brand and then I have built some trend exhibitions where Formex has been the client.

Tell us about your mission at Formex in August.
I was commissioned to design an inspiring and decorative environment in the 250 m2 Formex café located in the Scandinavian Living & Dining area in Hall A. There was an existing kitchen system on site that was included in the space. Otherwise it was completely empty.

Why did you choose to work with the Swedish brand Mimou?
I work with Mimou from time to time. They have lots of great products that work really well in a café. They hadn’t exhibited at Formex since 2009, so we attracted them with a good space and great company. Their friends from Ronneby, at Café Mandeltårtan, curated the pastries for the Formex café – which tasted delicious. We organized various workshops with Katrin Bååth, Karin Mannerstål and myself, among others. We also had Marlene Agemo on the stand to showcase her book. So we were a great team.

What kind of feedback did you get from visitors?
I have heard nothing but praise, superlatives and cheers!
