Are you the design star of tomorrow?
Design Talents is one of Formex’s most exciting features where talented and unestablished designers from Sweden and internationally can apply for a place to showcase their innovative design solutions and products at the fair. The applications go through a selection process with a jury that makes sure to reflect the breadth of products. Design Talents entrants are the big names of the future, and have the chance to win the competition’s top prize, Best In Show.
The application for Design Talents in January 2025 is now closed. The next call for applications will open in spring.

Albamatilde won Design Talents in August
Known for her vibrant patterns and innovative textile designs, Albamatilde has made a strong impression on this year’s jury with her tufted artworks. Her artwork features floral patterns inspired by her grandmother’s paintings from the 1960s.
Application Process
Selection
We look at the products from the point of view of novelty in terms of idea and form, and to get a good mix of product types at the fair. The section is built in an architecturally exciting way that differs from the other stands in the hall. As a Design Talents participant, you are welcome to participate in the area in up to three fairs.
Stand info & price
As a selected candidate, you will have the opportunity to accept a stand located in Design Talents. The stand is ready with a carpet, an electrical socket, lighting on the rope, painted wall and the marketing name in vinyl text on the wall. After the basic design, you decorate the stand yourself as you wish. The stand area is 6 sqm (3×2 meters). The start-up fee is SEK 2,295 (excl. VAT) and the stand rental is SEK 5,795 (excl. VAT). You will only be charged if you are taken out.
First prize of the competition: Best in Show
Every fair, the jury selects a winner of the Best in Show – a design award for the designer who stands out among all the talent. The winner is presented to the press on the Formex stage. The prize includes a stand worth SEK 15,000 at the next fair and editorial content on formex.se and in social media.
